blakeney-arched-upholstered-queen-bed
BH | Studio Blakeney Arched Upholstered Queen Bed

The round arch is one of the oldest shapes in building, carried from Roman aqueducts into the doorways of ordinary houses. Padded, rounded headboards took it into the bedroom in the 1930s, where it works like a fanlight over a front door, softening the wall and framing what sits below.

On the queen, the arch stands about 46.5 inches tall and spans the full width of the bed, a clean half-moon padded deeply enough to lean into for morning coffee. Side rails and footboard are upholstered to match and sit low, enclosing the mattress in a soft frame. Everything is covered in a heathered woven fabric over dense foam. Wooden slats support any standard queen mattress, whether memory foam, hybrid, latex or innerspring, without a box spring. Laminated wood legs with non-marking caps keep floors unmarked, the frame is rated to 800 lbs, and assembly is required.

It suits a primary bedroom, a guest room or a spare room equally well. Heathered Cream, Heathered Stone and Heathered Charcoal all give the bedroom a calm quality, and Heathered Cream brings a sunlit warmth to a north-facing room. Layer it with ivory linen, a cable-knit blanket at the foot and a pair of rattan bedside tables, then hang a soft landscape painting above the curve. Walls in warm white or pale clay keep the look restful. This listing is for the bed frame only; mattress and bedding are not included.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0751/5632/4487/files/bramley-house-blakeney-arched-upholstered-queen-bed-heathered-cream-01-front-pr.webp?v=1793254007
