bourton-round-post-upholstered-full-bed
BH | Studio Bourton Round-Post Upholstered Full Bed

Before box springs and steel frames, a bed was a wooden frame built around four corner posts, with a board fixed between them at the head and the foot. English country joiners in villages across the Cotswolds made it plain and sturdy, and the settlers who carried that craft to America, the Shakers among them, kept it so, with round posts and honest timber.

In a full size, it gives a roomier sleeping space without crowding a modest bedroom. Heathered upholstery in Cream or Stone, its yarns flecked so the colour has depth, pads a headboard and footboard held between four round solid wood posts in Almond or Chestnut. The headboard, about 46 inches tall, makes a comfortable back for morning coffee, and the lower footboard leaves the room open. A slatted wood base supports a standard full mattress and lets it breathe, with no box spring to add. Strength is rated at 794 lbs; assembly required.

A full is the classic guest bed, and it is a fine choice for a teenager's room, a studio apartment or the compact second bedroom of a city apartment that doubles as a home office. Keep it light and fresh: washed linen in white and sand, an almond wood bench at the foot, a rattan pendant overhead and a stack of paperbacks on a simple stool beside it. This listing is for the bed frame only; mattress and bedding are not included.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0751/5632/4487/files/bramley-house-bourton-round-post-upholstered-full-bed-cream-with-almond-frame-01-front-pr.webp?v=1793571494
