sturbridge-corner-post-velvet-full-bed
BH | Studio Sturbridge Corner-Post Velvet Full Bed

The low-post bed, its four corner posts stopping well short of a canopy, was the everyday bed of nineteenth-century New England, and you can still see plain examples in the farmhouse bedrooms preserved at Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts. Pad the posts and cover the frame in velvet, as the upholstered bedrooms of the 1930s did, and the old form turns warm and quietly modern.

A full-size bed for one sleeper who likes room to spread out, or two who share happily. The padded headboard and lower footboard sit between rounded upholstered posts, and all of it is covered in performance velvet that resists stains, in Cream, Truffle, Claret or Fawn. Wood slats support the mattress and keep air moving beneath it, so you can skip the box spring, and the frame accepts most mattress types. It is rated to 800 lbs. Assembly is required.

Place it in a guest room, a teenager's bedroom or a cottage bedroom where a queen would crowd the floor. The tall headboard makes a soft backrest for an evening with a novel. The velvet reads soft and serene: make it up with white linen, a pale blue coverlet and a heap of pillows, then add a mirrored or painted nightstand and a pleated shade lamp. This listing is for the bed frame only; mattress and bedding are not included.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0751/5632/4487/files/bramley-house-sturbridge-corner-post-velvet-full-bed-cream-01-front-pr.webp?v=1793571702
