sturbridge-corner-post-velvet-king-bed
BH | Studio Sturbridge Corner-Post Velvet King Bed

The low-post bed, its four corner posts stopping well short of a canopy, was the everyday bed of nineteenth-century New England, and you can still see plain examples in the farmhouse bedrooms preserved at Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts. Pad the posts and cover the frame in velvet, as the upholstered bedrooms of the 1930s did, and the old form turns warm and quietly modern.

A king bed with room for two to stretch out, built with a tall padded headboard and a lower footboard, each set between rounded upholstered posts that anchor the corners. It is covered in performance velvet in Cream, Truffle, Claret or Fawn, made to resist stains. Wood slats support a standard king mattress and keep it ventilated, so no box spring is needed, and the frame is rated to 800 lbs. Assembly is required.

Give it a primary bedroom or a large guest suite, where its soft bulk fills the room. The headboard is tall enough for two people to sit up and read. The velvet suits a serene, layered look: crisp white sheets, a stone linen duvet, a cashmere throw, travertine bedside tables and plaster lamps, against walls in soft white. This listing is for the bed frame only; mattress and bedding are not included.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0751/5632/4487/files/bramley-house-sturbridge-corner-post-velvet-king-bed-cream-01-front-pr.webp?v=1793571715
