We will email you when it ships.

Furniture made to order cannot be hurried, and we would not want it to be.

HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Louvred doors began as a practical idea: angled slats that let air move while keeping the sun out, borrowed from the window shutters of warm-weather houses. On a cabinet they do something quieter. They trade a flat, solid front for rhythm and shadow, a run of fine horizontal lines that catches the light and shifts through the day.

The form is a breakfront: the centre section steps forward of the two flanking cupboards, an old cabinetmaker's trick that gives a long, low piece architectural depth instead of one unbroken wall. It is built from solid timber in a soft, weathered grey-brown, calm and driftwood-pale, with round brass knobs on each of the six louvred doors.

Behind them is generous closed storage, deep enough to hide the usual tangle of media boxes and cables while the television sits above. Long and grounded, it settles a room rather than shouting at it.

Care

Timber
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills promptly; avoid harsh cleaners on the pale finish. Keep out of direct, sustained sunlight and away from radiators to preserve the bleached tone. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

Shutter doors
Dust into the louvres with a soft, dry brush, where a cloth tends to skip over the slats. Ease the doors gently rather than swinging them, and check the hinge fixings once or twice a year.

Stability
At nearly five feet wide and a hundred pounds, this piece is safest anchored to the wall with the included strap. Sensible on any large case piece, and particularly so where a television sits on top.

A note on handmade variation
As the frame is hand-built and hand-finished, slight variations in tone, grain, and the wash of the finish are natural and unique to your piece. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
