Amalfi Terrazzo Cocktail Table

There's something deeply satisfying about a piece that reads as though it were carved from a single block, with no joins, no contrast, just one honest surface from top to bottom. This one is exactly that: a smooth, rounded pedestal swelling up to a generous circular top, the whole of it speckled with the flecks of aggregate that give terrazzo its life.

Terrazzo carries real history: centuries ago, Venetian workers created it from the marble offcuts left over on the workshop floor, setting the scraps into a fresh surface and grinding it smooth. It's a material that feels geological and permanent, yet completely current. Here it's shown in a warm, oatmeal tone scattered with darker stone, so it reads soft and organic rather than cold. The rounded, monolithic form is sculptural in the best sense: it looks less like furniture and more like something shaped by water over a very long time.

Because it's low, round, and softly organic, it plays beautifully against straight-lined sofas and hard corners. Set it before a linen or velvet sofa and let its curves do the softening. It gives you a cool, durable surface for the design books, a tray, and a proper evening drink, and asks very little in return.
