HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Rounded edges, warm wood, and knurled brass handles that ask to be touched: this little bedside chest speaks a fluent 1970s, the decade that took hard-edged modernism and softened every corner of it, trading chrome and glass for timber, warmth, and materials with some give to them. Here that easy, tactile spirit comes compact: three drawers, every edge rounded off.

Handcrafted from solid timber in a warm russet finish, it stacks three deep drawers in a tidy, low profile, each drawn on a knurled brass pull, with the corners bullnosed so soft the whole thing reads more pebble than box. Small enough for the side of a bed and roomy enough to earn the spot, it's part storage, part sculpture… the sort of piece you notice more the longer it's in the room.

Care

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

Brass
Dust the handle with a soft, dry cloth. Left alone, the brass will mellow and darken a little with time, which most people come to prefer. If you like it bright, an occasional gentle brass polish brings it back — just keep the polish off the surrounding wood.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
