HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

The grain is the ornament here. Nothing is carved, fluted or applied to the fronts, so what you are looking at is the timber itself, and the amber finish was chosen to let it move across the drawers rather than sit flat under a stain.

Solid wood in a warm amber finish with three deep drawers, broad front to back and running the full width. Thirty-two inches high and twenty-eight wide, which is a compact footprint for the amount it holds, and the squared silhouette sits flush to a wall.

This is the one to buy for a room that already has pattern in it. Against paper, or beside a four-poster, it gives the eye somewhere to rest and leaves the decoration to the things you chose for it. It also outlives a change of mind: a chest carrying no period detail moves from one scheme to the next without looking like it came from the last one.

Care

Drawers
Wooden runners move more sweetly with an occasional rub of candle wax along the bearing edge. Do not force a drawer that has swollen in damp weather; let the room dry out first.

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

Stability
Use the supplied wall-fixing kit. Load the lower drawers first and the upper drawers last, and open one drawer at a time.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
