HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

A rounded corner is an old solution to a narrow room. Georgian cabinetmakers shaped the ends of their chests rather than leaving them square, and the habit stuck, because a curve at hip height is simply kinder than a corner.

Here the outer panels are rounded on a small cabinet of solid hardwood in a deep espresso, with two compact drawers above and an open section below. Curved panels are harder to make than flat ones and worth the trouble.

It works as a bedside, with room on top for a lamp and a glass, or as an end table beside a chair in a sitting room. That open lower section is what keeps it from reading as a solid block. Dark furniture needs a gap somewhere in it to stay light on its feet, and this is where this piece puts its gap.

Care

TimberKeep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variationThis piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
