HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

The narrow hall table is one of the oldest fixtures in an English house, and it earned its place by fitting where nothing else would. A corridor has to stay walkable, so the table that lives in one has always been shallow. This one is shallow enough to leave the passage clear where a deeper table would not.

It's chestnut, with a single compact drawer on a brass knob and four hand-turned legs beneath. The turning is the only ornament on it, which is what keeps a small piece from looking busy.

Keys and mail go in the drawer, a lamp and a bowl go on top, and the hall stops accumulating. At this width it works beside a front door where a wider piece would block the swing, and chestnut takes the knocks a hallway gives furniture far better than a pale finish does.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: 100% solid hardwood in a chestnut finish, one compact drawer, brass knob, four turned legs.

Product dimensions: Height 32 in, Width 28 in, Depth 10 in, Weight 35.27 lbs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 12 in, Width 36 in, Depth 14 in, Weight 40.79 lbs.

Care

TimberKeep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the surface keeps the finish fed. Wipe spills quickly rather than letting them sit.

BrassDust with a dry cloth. Leave the brass to darken on its own if you like that, or bring it back with a little metal polish on a soft cloth, kept off the wood.

StabilityThis is a tall, shallow piece, which makes it easy to tip if it is leaned on or a drawer is left open and loaded. Secure it to the wall with an anti-tip strap, especially in a home with small children.

A note on handmade variationThis piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in colour and dimension are part of it and not faults.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
