HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Furniture built to live under a window has had to stop below the sill for centuries, and that is what sets a table at this height. It sits well below standard console height, which makes it a different piece entirely.

Solid hardwood in a warm chestnut, with two drawers on brass knobs and an open shelf running the full width underneath, so there is a place for the things that should be hidden and a place for the baskets that hold everything else.

It works under a window, behind a low sofa, or as a media unit beneath a wall-mounted screen. The low stance gives you surface and storage without raising a visual wall across a room. Under a sill is where it looks best, giving you a surface without blocking the light, and the shelf below takes the baskets.

Care

TimberKeep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the surface keeps the finish fed. Wipe spills quickly rather than letting them sit.

BrassDust with a dry cloth. Leave the brass to darken on its own if you like that, or bring it back with a little metal polish on a soft cloth, kept off the wood.

StabilityA piece with a drawer is safest anchored to the wall, because the weight shifts forward as soon as the drawer is open and loaded. Fit an anti-tip strap into a stud, especially in a home with small children.

A note on handmade variationThis piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in colour and dimension are part of it and not faults.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
