HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Bouclé, a yarn spun with small loops that give the cloth its pebbled, curly surface, came into its own on the soft modern chairs of the mid-twentieth century. Italian designers in particular paired it with rounded, sculptural frames, and the two have belonged together ever since.

This chair's back is one continuous upholstered band that sweeps round from the rear legs to become the arms, with an open gap behind the seat so light passes through. A thick foam cushion gives a deep, comfortable seat, and the looped fabric wraps every surface right down to the floor. Non-marking pins protect the floor, and a little assembly is needed.

Gather four around a pale oak table in a Scandinavian-leaning kitchen, or set one at a writing desk or a dressing table. The texture softens a room full of hard edges: plaster walls, stone floors, a linen runner and a jug of dried grasses. This listing is for a set of two chairs.

Care

Bouclé upholstery
The polyester bouclé carries cleaning code S, which means spot cleaning only, with a water-free dry-cleaning solvent. Never use water or steam. Blot spills straight away rather than rubbing. Vacuum regularly with a soft brush attachment, gently, so the loops are not pulled. Before using any cleaner, test it first on a small area out of sight.

A Note on Bouclé
Bouclé is woven from looped yarn, so its surface varies slightly across a piece and softens a little with use. This is the nature of the fabric and part of its character.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
