HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

A serpentine front is the hardest shape to make and the easiest to live with. Every drawer is cut and faced on a shallow bow, so the chest curves gently out towards you at the centre and back at the edges, and a large piece stops reading as a block against the wall.

Solid wood throughout in a deep cocoa finish, with the grain left open so it reads as real wood rather than a coat of colour. Three broad bowed drawers, a shaped top edge that follows the same curve, and rounded bun feet that lift it clear of the baseboard.

At thirty-four inches wide it is the right size for the wall opposite a bed, or for a hallway where you want storage that does not look like storage. Keep the top clear apart from a lamp and one good object: the curve is the whole piece of craft here, and it only shows when nothing is standing in front of it.

Materials & Dimensions

Care

Metal knobs
Dust with a soft, dry cloth; keep polish off the surrounding wood.

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

Stability
Use the supplied wall-fixing kit. Load the lower drawers first and the upper drawers last, and open one drawer at a time.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
