HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

The post bed, four corner posts joined by rails with a board at the head and foot, is among the plainest and oldest kinds of bedstead. Bouclé, a yarn spun with tiny loops that give the cloth a pebbled surface, came into upholstery with mid-century modern interiors, and it lends that old frame a soft, tactile warmth.

In twin size it makes a small bed with a lot of character. White bouclé, all tiny loops, pads the headboard and footboard, set between round solid wood posts in Almond or Chestnut on a kiln-dried wood frame. A 46-inch headboard gives a child somewhere soft to sit up for a story, or a teenager a place to lean back. The slatted base takes a standard twin mattress and keeps it ventilated, no box spring required. Its rating is 794 lbs, and some assembly is needed.

It suits a child's room, a compact guest room or a daybed corner of a home office. The white bouclé is cosy to touch and bright to look at: add a soft pink or sage quilt, a sheepskin by the bed, a round wood side table and a wall of framed prints. Two side by side make a charming room for visiting cousins. This listing is for the bed frame only; mattress and bedding are not included.

Care

Bouclé upholstery
Vacuum lightly with a brush attachment to lift dust. Blot spills straight away rather than rubbing, and for anything more, use a professional upholstery cleaner. Keep out of prolonged direct sun. If a loop snags, trim it with small scissors rather than pulling it.

Wood frame
Dust the posts and rails with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Keep the bed out of direct sun and away from radiators and heat vents to protect the wood. Check and tighten the bolts now and then, as you would with any bed frame.

A Note on Natural Variation
Where natural materials such as wood are used, slight variations in grain and colour from one piece to the next are to be expected, and give each its own character.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
