HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Tan hide over a wooden frame is one of furniture's oldest partnerships, from the leather-seated library chairs of Georgian England to the strap and sling chairs of mid-century Denmark. Brought to the bedroom as padded panels between four round posts, it gives a bed a tailored, lived-in warmth.

At king size, broad panels of caramel vegan leather form a tall padded headboard and a lower footboard, held at the corners by four round posts in solid wood, Almond or Chestnut. The headboard stands about 46 inches high and runs the width of a standard king mattress, room for two to sit up for breakfast in bed. Wooden slats over a kiln-dried wood frame carry the mattress with ventilation below, so no box spring is needed. The frame is rated to 794 lbs, and assembly is required.

It makes a light, airy centerpiece for a large primary bedroom or a beach-house main suite. Tan with Almond reads clean and sun-warmed, and with Chestnut a little richer: dress it in crisp white sheets, a sand linen duvet and a terracotta throw, with pale bedside tables, a pair of woven pendant shades and a big jute rug. A long bench or a blanket basket at the foot keeps the look easy. This listing is for the bed frame only; mattress and bedding are not included.

Care

Vegan leather upholstery
For everyday dust, wipe gently with a clean, soft, dry cloth. For a stubborn mark, use a clean cloth that is only slightly damp and well wrung out, rubbing gently in small circles with the grain of the material. Repeat on heavier soiling rather than scrubbing hard, and avoid working a damp cloth over one spot for long, which can harm the faux leather. For ink or marker, first test a small, hidden area with a cotton swab dipped in a little alcohol to check the colour does not lift. If it holds, wipe the mark gently with the swab, follow with a wrung-out damp cloth, then blot up excess moisture with a clean, dry cloth and let it air dry in the shade. Never use gasoline, strong acids, strong alkalis or organic solvents, which damage the surface coating. Keep away from high temperatures, direct heat and prolonged sun, which can cause cracking.

Wood frame
Dust the posts and rails with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Keep the bed out of direct sun and away from radiators and heat vents to protect the wood. Check and tighten the bolts now and then, as you would with any bed frame.

A Note on Natural Variation
Where natural materials such as wood are used, slight variations in grain and colour from one piece to the next are to be expected, and give each its own character.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
