HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

A woven panel on a bedside chest does something useful beyond looking good. It breaks up two solid drawer fronts at close range, which matters on a piece you look at from twelve inches away every morning and almost nowhere else.

Solid wood in a deep espresso with a tight herringbone weave wrapping both drawer fronts and the sides, brass bar handles, and two drawers of equal depth. Twenty inches high, which is low enough to sit under the line of a mattress on most bed frames rather than sitting above it.

The dark finish and the pale weave is the whole idea: warm where you touch it, dark where it meets the room. It works beside a bed in a dark-walled room where a plain wooden chest would simply vanish. The weave is close and completely solid, so the drawers keep their contents out of sight.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: Solid hardwood in an espresso finish, close herringbone weave across the drawer fronts and sides, brass bar handles, two drawers.

Product dimensions: Height 20 in, Width 20 in, Depth 15.2 in, Weight 30.86 lbs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 24 in, Width 24 in, Depth 19.2 in, Weight 35.27 lbs.

Care

Woven rattan
Dust with a soft brush or a vacuum on low suction, working along the weave. Keep it out of damp rooms and away from direct heat, which dries the fibre and makes it brittle.

Brass handles
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Leave the patina to come on its own; polish only if you want it bright.

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
