HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Ribbed upholstery has a long history in British travel: early motorcars and railway carriages stitched their seats into deep rolled pleats so the padding stayed put over a long journey. The 1970s took the same ribs, made them plump and low, and brought them home to the living room.

This armless chair is covered in a performance fleece with a short, soft pile, stitched into rounded channels, long padded ribs that run across the back and down the length of the seat. Where the seat channels meet the front they finish in a gentle scalloped edge. The seat sits deep and close to the floor, built up with layered foam for curling up. It comes fully assembled, so it is ready to use at once.

Set it in a living room beside a low table, in a bedroom by the window, or in a den for film nights. It looks good with a striped rug, a ceramic lamp and dark wood, and it invites a blanket and a cup of tea.

Care

Fleece upholstery
Vacuum lightly with a brush attachment to lift dust. Blot spills straight away rather than rubbing. For anything more, use a professional upholstery cleaner, and test any cleaner first on a small area out of sight. Keep out of prolonged direct sun, which fades fabric over time.

A Note on Pile Fabric
Soft pile fabrics show gentle shading or pressure marks where the pile lies in different directions. A light brush with a soft upholstery brush lifts it again, and it is part of the fabric's character.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
