BH | Studio Cascais 24-Inch Shaker Vanity

The Shaker communities of nineteenth-century America built their cupboards to a strict idea of usefulness: a thin board let into a four-sided frame, a plain turned knob, nothing carved to gather dust. Portugal has its own long love of crisp white and glazed tile, and the azulejo, a painted ceramic tile, has dressed walls in the seaside towns around Lisbon, Cascais among them, for centuries. A plain painted door looks right against it, on a bathroom cabinet as on a pantry.

This one stands on four tapered legs, with a drawer front and two small round black knobs across the top and a pair of Shaker-style doors below, opening onto a cabinet with two shelves for towels, toiletries and cleaning supplies. The soft-close doors settle shut quietly. An integrated ceramic top forms the counter and the basin in one smooth piece, with a gently curved bowl, pre-drilled with three faucet holes for an 8-inch widespread faucet. The cabinet is wood and engineered wood finished in Alabaster or Pewter, with non-marking caps on the feet to protect tile and wood floors. Faucet and plumbing fixtures are not included, and assembly is required.

At 24 inches wide it fits a powder room, a guest bath or a small bathroom off the bedroom where space is tight. It looks clean and classic: pair it with a polished nickel or brass faucet, a round mirror, white subway tile and a striped hand towel,. It installs like any vanity. This listing is for one vanity cabinet with its ceramic top and basin; the faucet is not included.
