HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Eighteenth-century French chairmakers loved a back that followed the body, and the cabriolet, a chair whose back is hollowed into a gentle curve, became a fixture of manor and town house alike. The shape suits an old stone house in a Burgundy village such as Flavigny as well as a new apartment.

This armless version carries the idea in a fully upholstered barrel back, a rounded shell that curves forward to wrap the sitter. It is covered in a slub weave, a fabric with uneven yarns that gives a soft texture with the look of linen, and set on four tapered wood legs in a dark brown finish. Foot pins guard the floor, and assembly is needed.

The armless shape tucks neatly round a breakfast table by the window. One makes a fine accent chair in a bedroom. Set them around a dark wood table with a linen runner, a bowl of pears and a pair of tall candles. This listing is for a set of two chairs.

Care

Woven upholstery
The polyester fabric carries cleaning code S, which means spot cleaning only, with a water-free dry-cleaning solvent. Never use water or steam. Vacuum regularly to lift dust. Blot spills straight away rather than rubbing. Before using any cleaner, test it first on a small area out of sight.

Wood legs
Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Keep out of direct sun and away from radiators and heat vents to protect the wood.

A Note on Natural Variation
Where natural materials such as wood are used, slight variations in grain and colour from one piece to the next are to be expected, and give each its own character.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
