HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

The low platform bed came into its own in the 1950s and 1960s, when modern designers pared the bedstead back to a simple wood frame close to the floor. Button tufting is older, a Victorian way of drawing padding down into a grid of soft squares, and a buttoned panel framed in wood brings the two together.

The queen version of this low platform pairs a chestnut wood frame with a headboard panel of upholstery in Oyster or Charcoal, buttoned in a grid and held in a slim wood border. Angled legs loop down to the floor at the corners in a sled shape, so the bed seems light on its feet. Wood slats on a reinforced centre beam with support legs mean no box spring, and the frame is rated to 601 lbs. It suits a queen mattress of any type: innerspring, hybrid, latex or memory foam. Construction is engineered wood with wood veneer and solid hardwood legs; assembly is required.

Use it in a primary bedroom of ordinary size or a generous guest room, where the light headboard keeps the room feeling open. The tufted panel is a good backrest for morning email. The warm wood and upholstered panel work with almost any palette: try sage green walls, linen bedding in white and stone, a leather bench at the foot, brass bedside lamps and a vintage kilim. This listing is for the bed frame only; mattress and bedding are not included.

Care

Fabric headboard
The 100% polyester fabric carries cleaning code S, which means spot cleaning only with a water-free dry-cleaning solvent. Do not use water or steam on it. Vacuum regularly to keep dust from settling into the tufting. Blot spills immediately rather than rubbing them. Test any cleaner in an inconspicuous area before use.

Wood frame
Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Wipe up any standing water promptly, as the engineered wood and veneer should not stay wet. Keep the bed out of direct sun and away from radiators and heat vents to protect the wood and its finish. Check and tighten the bolts now and then, the way you would with any bed frame, to keep it feeling solid.

A Note on Natural Variation
Where natural materials such as wood are used, slight variations in grain and colour from one piece to the next are to be expected, and give each its own character.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
