HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

There's a particular kind of bench that has been quietly working in the halls of English houses and gentlemen's clubs for well over a century: low, unfussy, upholstered in leather and buttoned down the top, made to be sat on by people in a hurry.

A deep olive green leather covers the seat, buttoned down across the whole surface, carried on legs of solid hardwood in a chestnut finish.

This deep olive behaves like a neutral once it's home: it settles against natural linen, warms up a cool grey, and the leather only improves as it softens with handling. Set it at the foot of a bed, or float it in an entrance hall to hold a bag, the day's mail, and whoever happens to be tying their shoes.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: 100% solid hardwood frame and legs, chestnut finish, olive green leather upholstery with deep button design.

Product dimensions: Height 15.7 in, Width 35.4 in, Depth 14.2 in, Weight 27.56 lbs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 14 in, Width 40 in, Depth 18.4 in, Weight 30.86 lbs.

Care

LeatherWipe with a soft dry cloth. For marks, use a barely damp cloth and let it dry naturally. Avoid solvents and household cleaners. The leather will soften and deepen in colour with use, which is rather the point of it.

TimberKeep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variationThis piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
