HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Six drawers across fifty-four inches is a serious piece of bedroom storage, and the fluting across the fronts is what stops it reading as a wall of wood. The detail is shallow and regular, so it catches light without collecting dust.

The same chest in a roasted almond, paler and pinker than the amber. Fluting across the six fronts, antique brass on the handles, corners softened and the feet below turned to spheres. Thirty-two inches high and fifty-four long, which is a wall's worth of storage in a single low line.

Almond is the one to take in a room with white or chalk walls, where its pinker cast sits closer to the paint. Fix it to the wall, as you would any chest of this weight. Keep the top to a lamp and a tray: a long low surface fills with small objects faster than any other in a house.

Care

Brass handles
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Leave the patina to come on its own; polish only if you want it bright.

Drawers
Wooden runners move more sweetly with an occasional rub of candle wax along the bearing edge. Do not force a drawer that has swollen in damp weather; let the room dry out first.

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

Stability
Use the supplied wall-fixing kit. Load the lower drawers first and the upper drawers last, and open one drawer at a time.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
