HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Reeding is fluting's quiet inverse: instead of cutting grooves into a surface, it stands slim ribs proud of it, so the light runs down every ridge instead of pooling in a channel. It was a particular favourite of the 1930s, when Art Deco sent reeded verticals up everything from cocktail cabinets to cinema fronts.

Here that detail wraps three deep drawers and a body with no hard corners, curved at both ends and rounded over along the top, so the light travels across the ribbing instead of stopping at an edge. Handcrafted from solid hardwood in a warm amber, on brass-capped legs, a slim brass pull across each front.

The Deco instinct carries through the whole piece: the stance, the taper, the glint of brass at the feet. Set it along a bedroom wall for folded clothes, or in a hall where the ribbed front catches the light every time you pass it.

Care

TimberKeep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the surface keeps the finish fed. Wipe spills quickly rather than letting them sit.

BrassDust with a dry cloth. Leave the brass to darken on its own if you like that, or bring it back with a little metal polish on a soft cloth, kept off the wood.

StabilityLike any chest of drawers, this one is safest anchored to the wall, and most of all in a child's room. A chest shifts its weight forward as soon as the drawers are open, so fit an anti-tip strap to the back and into a stud.

A note on handmade variationThis piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in colour and dimension are part of it and not faults.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
