HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Woven cane reached England with the East India trade, and by the 1660s caned chairs and daybeds were the fashion: light, cool and springy. Mid-century makers revived it, setting cane panels into plain wood frames so a bed looked airy rather than heavy.

The full pairs a grid of square woven cane panels with a warm chestnut wood frame, the open weave keeping the headboard light against the wall. Sled-style angled legs in solid hardwood lift the low platform and give it a crisp mid-century profile, while the frame itself is engineered wood with wood veneer. A slatted base backed by a reinforced centre beam and extra support legs carries the mattress, so you can skip the box spring; memory foam, hybrid, latex and innerspring all suit. The top of the headboard sits 41 to 51 inches off the floor. The frame is rated to 601 lbs and requires assembly.

It suits a guest bedroom, a teenager's room or a smaller primary bedroom in an apartment. Chestnut and cane read casual and collected: try it with a striped cotton blanket, a vintage wool rug in faded red, a ceramic table lamp and a stack of paperbacks on a stool. A teenager gets a grown-up bed that still feels relaxed. This listing is for the bed frame only; mattress and bedding are not included.

Care

Wood frame
Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Wipe up any standing water promptly, as the engineered wood and veneer should not stay wet. Keep the bed out of direct sun and away from radiators and heat vents to protect the wood and its finish. Check and tighten the bolts now and then, the way you would with any bed frame, to keep it feeling solid.

Cane
Brush or vacuum the cane panels gently with a soft brush attachment, and wipe with a barely damp cloth when needed. Keep away from heat and direct sun, which dry the fibres.

A Note on Natural Variation
Where natural materials such as wood are used, slight variations in grain and colour from one piece to the next are to be expected, and give each its own character.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
