BH | Studio Lier Pleated Table Lamp

Pleated fabric lampshades, folded in even creases to soften the light, have dressed table lamps since the early twentieth century. Set on a plain column of wood, the look belongs to the Scandinavian habit of warm timber and low, gentle lamplight that makes long winter evenings feel snug.

The shade is white fabric folded into deep pleats that flare outward and finish in a soft scalloped hem, like an upturned flower, and it spreads the light into a warm, even glow. It sits on a slender round column of solid wood in a warm hazel brown. An on/off switch set into the cord makes it simple to use, and the 70-inch cord reaches an outlet behind a nightstand or console. At 18.5 inches tall it is compact enough for a bedside. It takes one standard A19 E26 bulb of 60 watts.

Use it on a nightstand or dresser in the bedroom, on a side table in the living room, or on a console in the entry where it greets you at night. White pleats and warm wood look at home in mid-century, retro or cottage rooms: pair it with a walnut nightstand, a stack of hardback books, a small brass tray and linen in oatmeal or sage. This listing is for one lamp; the bulb is not included.
