HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

An open frame reads lighter than a cabinet even when it takes the same floor, because you can see through it to the wall behind. It's the oldest trick for putting a surface in a narrow hall without closing the hall in.

Solid hardwood in a warm chestnut, swept into a gentle curve with a softly rounded top and nothing filling the space beneath.

It suits a narrow hallway, an entryway, or the wall behind a sofa, anywhere you want character without clutter. A simple transition space becomes a considered part of the house. Marlow sits on the Thames in Buckinghamshire, and this is the softest piece in the family: a sweep where a console would usually take a corner.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: 100% solid hardwood in a chestnut finish, rounded top, open framework.

Product dimensions: Height 31.2 in, Width 48 in, Depth 14 in, Weight 35.27 lbs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 9.2 in, Width 52 in, Depth 18 in, Weight 40.79 lbs.

Care

TimberKeep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the surface keeps the finish fed. Wipe spills quickly rather than letting them sit.

StabilityThis is a tall, shallow piece, which makes it easy to tip if it is leaned on or a drawer is left open and loaded. Secure it to the wall with an anti-tip strap, especially in a home with small children.

A note on handmade variationThis piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in colour and dimension are part of it and not faults.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
