HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

The small footstool is the most underrated thing you can buy for a sitting room. It takes up no room, weighs almost nothing, and solves the problem of the chair that is almost comfortable: the one you like the look of but never quite settle into.

Sixteen inches square and fourteen high, in a handwoven cream bouclé carried on splayed tapered legs of solid wood. Light enough to pick up with one hand and move across the room without thinking about it, which is most of what you want from a piece this size.

Keep one by the reading chair and a second where the room usually runs out of seats. At this size it also works as a side table with a tray on it, or as somewhere for a child to sit without ceremony. Cream bouclé is forgiving in a way plain cotton is not, because the texture breaks up the light.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: Handwoven cotton bouclé in cream, splayed tapered legs in solid hardwood.

Product dimensions: Height 14 in, Width 16 in, Depth 16 in, Weight 9.92 lbs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 10 in, Width 20 in, Depth 20 in, Weight 13.23 lbs.

Care

Bouclé
Vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment to keep the loops even. Spot-clean promptly with a clean, damp cloth and a little mild soap, then blot dry. Snags can be eased back into the weave rather than cut.

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
