HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

After the Second World War, Danish cabinetmakers sent warm, oiled hardwood furniture around the world, and American homes took eagerly to its soft edges, slim proportions and small brass details. The style rested on good proportion and a few honest materials, which is why a cabinet made in that spirit sits as easily in a bathroom as in a living room.

This 24-inch vanity is built from solid hardwood in a warm honey-brown, with a clean-lined cabinet standing on four tapered legs. A white ceramic sink and countertop are molded as one piece with no seams to collect water, and the top is drilled with 8-inch centerset faucet holes. The front shows two drawer faces with brass bar pulls: the upper one is a false front that keeps the plumbing hidden, and the lower one is a deep drawer for towels and hair tools. A cut-out in the back lets the supply and drain lines through, and caps on the feet protect tile floors. Assembly is required, and it installs like any vanity.

At this width it suits a powder room or a guest bath. Honey wood and white ceramic are a classic mid-century pairing: add a brass faucet, a round mirror and a striped cotton hand towel, against white zellige or soft green tile. This listing is for one vanity with its ceramic sink top; faucet and fixtures are not included.

Care

Wood frame
The cabinet is solid hardwood. Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Wipe up splashes and standing water promptly, especially along the top edge of the cabinet and around the base and legs, and keep the bathroom well ventilated so moisture does not linger. Keep out of direct sun and away from radiators and heat vents. Wipe the brass pulls with a soft, dry cloth.

Ceramic basin
The countertop and basin are ceramic, made in one piece. Clean with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth, then rinse and wipe dry. Avoid scouring pads and harsh chemicals, which can dull the glaze.

Installation
Install and connect like any freestanding vanity, ideally by a licensed plumber. Once it is in place, check that it stands level and steady on the floor.

A Note on Natural Variation
Where natural materials such as wood are used, slight variations in grain and colour from one piece to the next are to be expected, and give each its own character.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
