HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

The French never met a bench they didn't want to carve, and here that instinct meets good British tweed, which turns out to be a rather charming cross-Channel marriage.

Built on the Mirabel line's sweeping cabriole legs, curving out at the knee and in at the foot, in a pale bleached finish, with hand-carved detail worked through the frame. The seat is our heritage tweed, a warm herringbone shot through with russet and blue check, trimmed with antique brass studs.

The pale carved wood against the tweed is snug and considered at once: a piece for the foot of a bed, a dressing room, or a hallway that wants a little heritage warmth.

Materials: Heritage tweed in mixed wool, antique brass stud edging, hand-carved 100% solid hardwood frame in a pale bleached finish, curved cabriole legs.

Care

Tweed upholsteryVacuum on a low setting. Blot spills straight away and let the wool dry naturally rather than using heat on it.

Timber frameKeep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the surface keeps the finish fed. Wipe spills quickly rather than letting them sit.

BrassDust with a dry cloth. Leave the brass to darken on its own if you like that, or bring it back with a little metal polish on a soft cloth, kept off the wood.

A note on woven fabricThis cloth is woven in batches and the colour mix shifts a little between them. If you are buying two pieces to sit together, order them at the same time.

A note on handmade variationThis piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
