HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Stockholm's Concert Hall opened in 1926 in the Norrmalm district and became a landmark of the style English writers called Swedish Grace: classical order pared back until it looked new. It was elegance without fuss, and the same instinct runs through this sofa.

Its outline is a single crisp box, the arms rising straight to the height of the back. Every inside surface is channel tufted, stitched into deep vertical ribs that run like the fluting on a column. Dense foam sits over individually wrapped springs, the velvet is a performance fabric that shrugs off spills, and the whole sofa floats on a recessed plinth of gold-finish stainless steel. It is built for a full row of guests.

Give it the main wall of a living room, facing a pair of chairs across a round marble coffee table, or set it in a home office for an afternoon with a book. Velvet and gold suit black lacquer and big abstract canvases; add a mohair throw and a stack of art books.

Care

Velvet upholstery
This polyester velvet carries cleaning code S, which means spot cleaning only, with a water-free dry-cleaning solvent. Never use water or steam on the fabric. Blot spills straight away rather than rubbing, and before using any cleaner, test it first on a small area out of sight. Vacuum regularly with a brush attachment, and keep out of prolonged direct sun, which fades fabric over time.

Metal base
Wipe with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth and dry straight after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, which can scratch the gold finish.

A Note on Velvet
Velvet shows soft shading or pressure marks where the pile lies in different directions. This is a characteristic of the fabric and part of how it catches the light.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
