HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Fluting is one of the oldest tricks in architecture and it works on furniture for the same reason it works on a column: the grooves catch light down one side and shadow down the other, so a bare cylinder stops reading as one.

Solid wood in a warm amber, fluted the full height of the drum, with a smooth round marble top laid over it. Fourteen inches across and twenty high, which puts it level with most chair arms and makes it reachable without leaning.

It is small enough to move and heavy enough to feel permanent, which is a rare combination in a side table. Beside a reading chair, at the end of a sofa, or paired with its square sister on either side of a bed, where the two shapes stop a symmetrical room looking staged.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: Fluted cylindrical base in solid hardwood, amber finish, round marble top.

Product dimensions: Height 20.4 in, Width 14.4 in, Depth 14.4 in, Weight 39.68 lbs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 24.4 in, Width 18.4 in, Depth 18.4 in, Weight 46.3 lbs.

Care

Marble
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry it off. Blot spills straight away, particularly wine, citrus and anything oily, as marble is porous and will mark. Use coasters and skip acidic cleaners.

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
