HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

The wheeled drink cart came into its own when cocktail hour became a social event, roughly the 1920s through mid-century: the clever bit of furniture that rolled the bar over to the guests rather than making the guests get up. And few rooms did it better than the Savoy, whose American Bar practically wrote the cocktail canon.

This one keeps to that gently glamorous tradition: a curved, oval frame of solid timber in a warm amber finish, an open woven rattan shelf for glassware, a lower shelf for bottles, and turned legs riding on antique-brass castors so the whole thing wheels wherever the evening drifts. Part bar, part serving cart, part sculptural object: equally at home stocked for a party or standing by with the morning coffee.

Care

Timber
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills promptly; avoid harsh or silicone-based cleaners. Use a tray or coasters under drinks on the wooden surfaces. Keep out of direct, sustained sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

Rattan top
Dust with a soft brush and wipe occasionally with a barely-damp cloth, drying promptly. Avoid overloading or pressing on the weave, and keep away from very dry heat, which can slacken the weave.

Brass castors
Buff gently with a dry cloth, keep the wheels rolling freely, and take a little care on soft or easily-marked flooring.

A note on handmade variation
As the frame is hand-finished and the rattan hand-woven, slight variations in grain, weave, and tone are natural and unique to your piece.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
