HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Rattan has spent the better part of a century on the good verandas: colonial sunrooms, Riviera terraces, conservatories where nobody was ever in a hurry. This bench belongs squarely to that easy lineage.

Its body and gently flared, scrolled arms are hand-woven in warm natural rattan, topped with a plump bouclé cushion in soft cream and lifted on neat tapered wooden legs. The effect is breezy but tailored: a woven piece with actual posture. Set it at the foot of a bed, in an entryway, or under a window; it brings a natural, sunlit softness that flatters the harder, heavier things around it, and asks little in return beyond that you slow down a little.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: Sturdy wooden frame wrapped in durable rattan, cream boucle seat, slightly curved armrests, tapered wooden legs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 17.72 in, Width 44.09 in, Depth 17.72 in, Weight 26.46 lbs.

Care

Woven rattan
Dust with a soft brush to reach into the weave, and wipe occasionally with a barely-damp cloth, drying promptly. Keep away from damp and from very dry heat, both of which can brittle or loosen natural rattan over time. Avoid resting concentrated weight on the arms or sides, which can distort the weave.

Bouclé cushion
Vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment. If a loop snags, snip it level with scissors — never pull it. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Keep out of direct, sustained sunlight to preserve the cream tone. Timber legs Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Check the leg fixings once or twice a year and gently firm any that have loosened. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variation
As the rattan is hand-woven and the cushion hand-upholstered, slight variations in weave, tone, and texture are natural and unique to your bench.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
