HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

There's something quietly charming about a bedside piece with a glass door. It turns an ordinary bedside table into a small cabinet of curiosities, a place for the things you actually like looking at: a short stack of books, a folded linen, a favourite object or two catching the light behind the glazing.

Built from solid wood in a weathered, stone-washed grey, it pairs a single drawer up top with a glazed cupboard below: closed storage for the bedside essentials, and a bit of open display for whatever is worth showing. Small metal knobs open both. It is a generous size for a bedside, roomy enough to earn its keep as a small cabinet in a living room or hallway if it ever moves on from the bedroom.

Set a pair either side of a larger bed for symmetry and real storage, or stand one alone beside a reading chair. It brings the pale, calm grey of old Swedish country furniture right up to the edge of the bed.

Care

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece. A pale, weathered finish shows marks a little more readily than a dark one, so wipe spills promptly.

Glass
Clean the glazed doors with a soft, lint-free cloth. Spray any cleaner onto the cloth, not the glass, so nothing runs down into the wood or the door joints.

Metal knobs
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. The knobs are finished in a dark, aged metal, meant to read timeworn against the pale wood, so they want nothing more than an occasional wipe — no polishing needed.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood and washed by hand, so no two take the finish exactly alike — variation in tone and weathering is the character of the technique, not a fault.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
