HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

There's a particular pleasure in a cabinet with glass doors: it turns whatever you keep inside into a small, curated display. Fill it with the good glassware, a run of books, a collection of blue-and-white, or the odd bit of treasure picked up on your travels, and a glazed cabinet does the quiet work of making it all look considered.

This one is built from solid wood in a weathered, stone-washed grey, aged and softened until it looks as though it has spent a hundred years in a cool country pantry. Three glazed doors open onto interior shelves, with small dark knobs finishing the front. At nearly five feet wide and a comfortable counter height, it has real presence without towering over a room.

Set it in a dining room to hold and show the glass and china, use it in a living room for books and objects, or stand it in a wide hall as a display piece with real storage behind the glass. It has the pale, unhurried calm of old Swedish country cabinetry, the kind of piece that makes a collection look as though it was always meant to be seen.

Care

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece. A pale, weathered finish shows marks a little more readily than a dark one, so wipe spills promptly. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

Glass
Clean the glazed doors with a soft, lint-free cloth. Spray any cleaner onto the cloth, not the glass, so nothing runs down into the wood or the door joints..... Metal knobs: Dust with a soft, dry cloth. The knobs are finished in a dark, aged metal, meant to read timeworn against the pale wood, so they want nothing more than an occasional wipe — no polishing needed.

Stability
A large glazed cabinet like this is safest anchored to the wall with the included strap — sensible on any tall cabinet, and doubly so with glass doors and children about.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood and washed by hand, so no two take the finish exactly alike — variation in tone and weathering is the character of the technique, not a fault.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
