HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

The darkest of the fluted bedsides, and the one that disappears into a dark-walled room instead of sitting on top of it. Against a deep green or a charcoal wall it reads as shadow rather than as furniture, which is a useful trick in a small bedroom.

Solid wood in a deep espresso with vertically fluted drawer fronts, two drawers on brass-toned handles and turned legs underneath. Twenty-two inches high and eighteen wide, so it stands roughly level with the top of most mattresses and sits comfortably close to the bed.

Dark furniture beside a bed needs a lamp to earn its place, and this one is built for that: put a warm bulb on it and the fluting does the rest, picking up the light in a run of narrow highlights. The brass handles warm as they age and will not stay the colour they arrive in.

Care

Brass handles
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Leave the patina to come on its own; polish only if you want it bright.

Drawers
Wooden runners move more sweetly with an occasional rub of candle wax along the bearing edge. Do not force a drawer that has swollen in damp weather; let the room dry out first.

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
