HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Two fluted cylinders and a plank across the top. There is nothing else to this bench and that is the whole argument for it: no upholstery to wear, no drawers to stick, nothing that will date.

Solid wood in a warm amber finish. The bases are turned as deep-fluted drums, so what would otherwise be two plain posts catch light down one side and shadow down the other. The top is left smooth and unbroken, forty-four inches of it, with the grain running the full length.

It reads as architecture rather than furniture, which makes it the right answer at the end of a bed or along a bare hallway wall where an upholstered bench would look like it wandered in from the sitting room. A folded blanket or a run of books along the top is all the softening it needs.

Care

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
