HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Smögen, a fishing village on Sweden's west coast, fills each summer with visitors drawn to its wooden boathouses and bright harbour, and a louvered cabinet carries the same easy holiday mood. The slatted door itself was everywhere in the American house of the 1950s and 1960s, on closets, pantries and laundry nooks, valued because the slats let air move through stored linens and shoes.

This 24-inch vanity is made of solid hardwood in a warm, honey-toned natural finish, with two louvered doors whose rows of angled slats give it the easy look of a beach-house cabinet. Small black knobs open them, and soft-close hinges bring them shut without a bang. Inside, an adjustable shelf moves to suit tall bottles or stacked towels. The cabinet stands on splayed, tapered legs with non-marking caps, leaving the floor open beneath. A white ceramic basin moulded with its countertop sits on top, pre-drilled with 8-inch centerset faucet holes. Assembly is required, and it installs like any vanity.

It brings a relaxed, coastal warmth to a powder room, a guest bath or a cottage bathroom. Pair the honey wood with white shiplap or sea-glass green tile, a round rattan or rope-framed mirror, a black or brushed nickel faucet and striped cotton towels in blue and white. It is just as much at home in a mid-century house as at the shore. This listing is for the vanity cabinet and its ceramic basin top; faucet and fixtures are not included.

Care

Wood frame
The cabinet is solid hardwood with a natural finish. Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Use a soft brush to lift dust from between the louvers on the doors. Wipe up splashes and standing water promptly, especially along the top edge of the cabinet and around the base and legs, and keep the bathroom well ventilated so moisture does not linger. Keep out of direct sun and away from radiators and heat vents. Wipe the metal knobs with a soft, dry cloth.

Ceramic basin
The countertop and basin are ceramic, made in one piece. Clean with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth, then rinse and wipe dry. Avoid scouring pads and harsh chemicals, which can dull the glaze.

Installation
Install and connect like any freestanding vanity, ideally by a licensed plumber. Once it is in place, check that it stands level and steady on the floor.

A Note on Natural Variation
Where natural materials such as wood are used, slight variations in grain and colour from one piece to the next are to be expected, and give each its own character.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
