HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

In English houses before plumbing, the washstand was true bedroom furniture, made to match the chest of drawers and the wardrobe beside it. Slatted wood, a device British makers borrowed from Scandinavian modern cabinetmakers in the mid-century decades, gives the bathroom vanity back some of that furniture character.

This is the narrowest of the slatted vanities, standing on four tapered wood legs with its front faced in horizontal slats. A single soft-close door opens onto an adjustable shelf, room for a hair dryer, spare soap and a couple of rolls of toilet paper. The ceramic basin is moulded in one piece with its counter, in Jet on the Hazel with Jet Top version, softly curved, with three holes for an 8-inch widespread faucet. Because the floor shows beneath it, a tight room never feels boxed in. Engineered wood forms the frame, under a laminate in a choice of finishes. Assembly is required.

Under 18 inches wide, it is made for the small rooms: a half bath under the stairs, a powder room carved from a closet or a city apartment bathroom. The slats and the one-piece basin give it real character: hang a slim oval mirror and a single sconce above, add a brass faucet, and keep a linen hand towel on a hook beside it. This listing is for one vanity with its ceramic basin top; faucet and fixtures are not included.

Care

Wood finish
Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Wipe up splashes and standing water promptly, especially along the top edge and around the base, as engineered wood does not like moisture. A soft brush lifts dust from between the slats. Keep the bathroom well ventilated so steam does not linger on the cabinet.

Wood legs
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Wipe up any water that pools around the feet.

Ceramic basin
Clean the integrated basin and countertop with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth, then wipe dry to keep water marks at bay. Avoid scouring pads and harsh chemicals, which can dull the glaze.

Installation
Install and connect this vanity as you would any freestanding vanity, ideally with a plumber.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
