HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

In English houses before plumbing, the washstand was true bedroom furniture, made to match the chest of drawers and the wardrobe beside it. Slatted wood, a device British makers borrowed from Scandinavian modern cabinetmakers in the mid-century decades, gives the bathroom vanity back some of that furniture character.

This is the widest of the slatted vanities that stand on legs, raised on four tapered wood legs with its front faced in close horizontal slats. Two soft-close doors open onto a roomy cabinet for towels, a hair dryer and cleaning supplies. Above sits a single ceramic basin in Jet or White, rectangular and formed in one piece with its countertop, drilled for an 8-inch widespread faucet. Wood-grain laminate in Hazel, Almond or Charcoal runs across every slat, over a frame of engineered wood. Assembly is required.

At 36 inches it gives a main bathroom or primary suite a generous counter, with room either side of the basin for a tray of skincare, a small plant and a jar of cotton pads. The slatted front has the confidence of a 1960s hotel bathroom: pair it with terrazzo or warm white tile, a wide mirror in a thin black frame, opal glass sconces and towels in rust, cream and charcoal. This listing is for one vanity with its ceramic basin top; faucet and fixtures are not included.

Care

Wood finish
Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Wipe up splashes and standing water promptly, especially along the top edge and around the base, as engineered wood does not like moisture. A soft brush lifts dust from between the slats. Keep the bathroom well ventilated so steam does not linger on the cabinet.

Wood legs
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe occasionally with a barely damp one, drying straight after. Wipe up any water that pools around the feet.

Ceramic basin
Clean the integrated basin and countertop with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth, then wipe dry to keep water marks at bay. Avoid scouring pads and harsh chemicals, which can dull the glaze.

Installation
Install and connect this vanity as you would any freestanding vanity, ideally with a plumber.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
