HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

There is a distinct art to a piece of furniture that refuses to be just one thing. We call it an ottoman, but over the course of a single evening it can be a footrest, an extra seat when the room fills with friends, and, with a heavy wooden tray set on top, a proper coffee table.

Wrapped in a deep, near-black brown leather that will only patina with age, it is worked in deep, hand-set diamond button-tufting and trimmed with a row of antique-brass nailheads around the base, the tailoring of a proper club-room piece. It sits on solid turned legs with brass castors, so it rolls to wherever it's wanted: clear a space for conversation, or draw it closer to the fire, with a single push.

Grounded, warm, and quietly clubbable, it wears that library heritage with an easygoing flexibility that feels entirely modern.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: Rich espresso leather upholstery, deep button-tufted cushioned top, antique-style stud detailing on base, turned solid wood legs with brass castors.

Product dimensions: Height 17.72 in, Width 31.5 in, Depth 31.5 in, Weight 39.68 lbs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 9.84 in, Width 33.46 in, Depth 33.46 in, Weight 46.3 lbs.

Care

Leather
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. For marks, use a barely damp cloth and let it dry naturally. Avoid solvents and household cleaners. The leather will soften and deepen in colour with use, which is rather the point of it.

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
