HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

The difference between a console and a useful console is three drawers, and this is where the small administrative debris of a household goes to stop being visible: keys, dog leashes, the mail nobody has opened. A console without them is a shelf with ambitions.

The same piece in a warm chestnut, deep and softly reddened, with three drawers on brass knobs and turned legs underneath. Forty-four inches long and fourteen deep, which is shallow enough to live in a corridor and long enough to take a lamp at each end with room left in between.

Chestnut is the warmer of the two finishes and the one to take in a hallway with wood floors, where its depth keeps the console reading as its own piece against the boards. Turned legs keep the base from looking heavy, and leave enough clearance underneath for a basket or a pair of boots.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: Solid hardwood throughout, chestnut finish, turned legs, three drawers on brass knobs, no shelf. Each piece is finished by hand, so grain and tone shift a little from one to the next.

Product dimensions: Height 32 in, Width 44 in, Depth 14 in, Weight 46.3 lbs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 12.8 in, Width 48 in, Depth 18 in, Weight 52.91 lbs.

Care

Metal knobs
Dust with a soft, dry cloth; keep polish off the surrounding wood.

Drawers
Wooden runners move more sweetly with an occasional rub of candle wax along the bearing edge. Do not force a drawer that has swollen in damp weather; let the room dry out first.

Timber
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. An occasional pass of beeswax on the unpainted wood keeps the sheen and extends the life of the piece.

A note on handmade variation
This piece is made by hand from solid wood. Grain patterns, knots, and small variations in tone or dimension occur naturally and are not faults. If you are buying several pieces to sit together in one room, order them together where possible, as batches can differ slightly in colour.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
