HOUSE NOTE · ABOUT THIS PIECE

Every English house has always needed a table by the door, and the long, turned-leg serving table with a shelf beneath is among the oldest answers to that need. That low shelf even has a proper name, a potboard, so called because in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century farmhouses the dresser's heaviest pots and crocks lived down there, close to the floor and easy to reach. This console carries that honest country logic straight into the hallway.

Handcrafted from solid timber in a warm chestnut finish, it runs long and low on slim turned legs, with four drawers across the top for keys, mail, gloves, and the small clutter every entrance collects, and a full-length potboard below for baskets, boots, or a stack of books. It is a gracious, generous length: substantial enough to anchor a wide hall or a big entry, and handsome enough to earn the spot rather than just fill it.

Materials & Dimensions

Materials: 100% solid hardwood (sustainably sourced). Fine chestnut finish; ring-pull metal handles. Country-style hallway console with 4 drawers, an under shelf, and hand-turned legs; includes anti-tip wall-mount kit.

Product dimensions: Height 36 in, Width 60 in, Depth 16 in, Weight 59.75 lbs.

Boxed dimensions: Height 40 in, Width 64 in, Depth 20 in, Weight 77.6 lbs.

Care

Daily maintenance
Dust regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. To preserve the depth of the chestnut finish, avoid using chemical-based or abrasive household cleaners, as they can strip the natural character of the timber over time.

Spills and moisture
Promptly blot any liquid spills with a dry, soft cloth. Never let moisture sit on the surface. We always recommend using coasters under drinks and felt pads under any decorative objects or lamps to protect the wood.

Timber
Solid timber responds naturally to its environment. To prevent warping, splitting, or fading, keep this console away from direct, harsh sunlight and out of the direct path of heat vents, radiators, or extreme humidity fluctuations. An occasional treatment with a quality, natural beeswax or wood conditioner will keep the grain nourished and protected for generations to come.

A note on handmade variation
Grain, knots, and tone vary across the timber, so each table is a one-of-a-kind original.

Shipping & Returns

Most pieces are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days and arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Pieces marked Made to Order are built after you order, and the timing shown on that piece applies instead. Larger items ship by freight, and the carrier will call to arrange a delivery time that suits you. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

A few addresses, typically islands, peninsulas and remote rural routes, carry an additional fee from the carrier. If that applies to yours, we will email you the exact amount before your order is released, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund.

Please inspect your piece on arrival and keep the packaging until you have. If anything is damaged or incorrect, photograph the piece and the box including the label, then email support@bramleyhousehome.com within 24 hours. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

Because each piece ships directly from the maker, we are not able to accept returns for change of mind.
